About the Opportunity
A growing aerospace and defense manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Horizontal Machinist to join its machining team on 2nd shift.
This is an excellent opportunity for a machinist who enjoys performing complete machine setups, machining medium to large precision components, and working independently in a high-quality manufacturing environment. You'll work with Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs), large metallic components, precision tooling, and critical aerospace parts while maintaining the highest quality standards.

What You'll Do
• Perform complete setups and operate CNC Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs)
• Set up machines for drilling, boring, milling, and tapping operations
• Load and secure castings, forgings, and raw materials onto tombstones, pallets, and fixtures
• Install, align, inspect, and replace tooling, inserts, and cutting tools as needed
• Load CNC programs and adjust offsets, feeds, and speeds to optimize production
• Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements
• Machine medium to large precision components while maintaining tight tolerances
• Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to improve quality and efficiency
• Follow AS9100 quality standards and manufacturing procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
What You Bring
• 3–5+ years of CNC Horizontal Machining experience
• Experience performing complete machine setups
• Experience operating Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs)
• Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, feeds, speeds, and troubleshooting
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T
• Experience machining medium to large precision metal components
• Experience working with tombstones, pallets, or precision fixturing
• Aerospace, defense, heavy industrial, or precision manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• High school diploma or equivalent
