Job Description WEEKEND CNC Machinist. CNC Machinist are responsible for the operation of Hydromat machines equipped with automatic indexing and feeding mechanism to perform series of machining operations on metal bar stock. Reads blueprint or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and number of work pieces to be machined.

Must be self-motivated and work well in a team environment. Must be able to work safely, recognize and mitigate any unsafe condition, and select appropriate PPE based on job requirements. Job Title: Machine Operator Department: Production Reports To: Production Manager Schedule: Friday - Sunday 5:00 am - 5:30 pm Role Summary/Purpose: Operates one or more previously set up Hydromat Rotary Transfer machines equipped with automatic indexing and feeding mechanism to perform series of machining operations on metal bar stock.

Reads dimensional drawings or job order for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and number of work pieces to be machined. Typical Schedule: The position may transition to first, second, or third shift as business needs dictate. Essential Job Functions: include the following.

Other duties may be assigned. Verifies conformance of work pieces to specifications, using preset gauges, micrometers and dial indicators Document hourly inspections for conforming production of product. Presets and changes cutting tools and tool holders to maintain production requirements.

Adjusts machine controls and changes tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances. Sets up fixture or feeding device, starts machine and engages feed. Observes Lubricants and Coolants to ensure they meet specifications as defined in machine manual.

Confers with supervisor to resolve machine malfunctions and production errors and obtains approval to continue production Sets up and operates tools according to instructions, specifications, and standard charts. Studies blueprints, work orders, and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed. Selects, places, and secures tools.

Places and secures workpieces in proper machine table, holding device, or other appropriate surface using clamps and wrenches. Prepares fixtures and feeding devices, starts machine, and engages feed. Observes each machine to verify quality performance.

Verifies measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers are in proper working order. Sets and adjusts necessary controls to regulate machines. Sharpens tools with bench grinder as needed.

Maintains machines per machine operating and maintenance manuals. Analyze and diagnose machine and tooling problems and take corrective measures to minimize downtime and interruption of schedules Achieve highest safety levels in the plant Employ 5S to all functions within the plant Mentor and motivate team in safety, quality and productivity improvements Qualifications/Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma is required. Trade school or machine vocational training is a plus, prior machine operation experience required. Strong attention to detail Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Thorough understanding of mechanics and other properties of machines.

Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams, and blueprints. Ability to follow proper safety protocols. Ability to determine whether machinery is working properly based on specifications for expectations such as fixtures, cutting speeds, or feed rates.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, work instructions and dimensional drawings s. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Cognitive Ability: Ability to analyze, computations, problem solving generate written work product and organize.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of machine control interface on the Hydromat machine, basic computer skills necessary. Other Skills and Abilities: Must be familiar with dimensional drawings reading, measuring instruments such as, but not limited to, calipers, go/no go gauges, and/or master gauges.
