Job description

Title: CNC Boring Mill Machinist

Shift: Second Shift | 3pm - 12am

Salary: $28 - $35/hr+, dependent on experience

CNC Boring Mill Machinist Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Boring Mill Machinist to set up and operate boring mills to manufacture large, high-quality precision components. This role exists to safely and accurately execute complex machining requirements to ensure the continuous production of superior products.

CNC Boring Mill Machinist Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC boring mills to manufacture precision components
  • Read and interpret complex machining drawings, blueprints, and engineering specifications
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify part accuracy and conformity to design tolerances
  • Monitor machine performance and adjust controls to optimize tool paths, speeds, and feeds
  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and materials required for each specific job order
  • Perform routine operator maintenance on machinery to ensure continuous operational safety
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to maintain rigorous workmanship standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace within the production environment

CNC Boring Mill Machinist Reporting Relationships:

This position reports directly to the Production Supervisor and has no direct reports.

About You:

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of CNC boring mill experience
  • Demonstrate fluency with all forms of manufacturing and machining drawings
  • Exhibit proficiency with all applicable precision measuring instruments
  • Possess knowledge or familiarity with multiple CNC controls
  • Maintain a strong commitment to quality craftsmanship and operational safety
  • Display excellent reliability, punctuality, and a collaborative team attitude
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, precision-driven manufacturing environment
