Volunteer Board Treasurer – Grief's Light Outreach

Grief's Light Outreach is a faith-rooted 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to walking alongside mothers who have experienced the loss of a child. Through comfort boxes, support groups, remembrance events, prayer, and compassionate community, we strive to bring hope and healing during life's most difficult seasons.

We are seeking a Volunteer Board Treasurer who has a heart for service and a commitment to financial integrity. This individual will serve as a member of our Board of Directors and help ensure the financial health and accountability of our growing organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the financial affairs of the organization.
  • Review monthly income and expenses.
  • Present financial reports during quarterly board meetings.
  • Assist with developing and monitoring the annual budget.
  • Ensure financial records are accurate and maintained according to nonprofit best practices.
  • Help ensure compliance with federal and state nonprofit reporting requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Founder and Board of Directors to support the organization's mission.
  • Provide financial guidance as Grief's Light Outreach continues to grow.

Qualifications

  • Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, banking, or nonprofit financial management preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to the Board.
  • Passion for serving others and supporting the mission of Grief's Light Outreach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving as a nonprofit treasurer or board member is a plus.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
