Business Development Manager – Staffing Sales

Blue Ribbon Recruiting
East Tennessee | Full-Time
$40,000 Base Salary + Uncapped Commission

Blue Ribbon Recruiting is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to expand our client partnerships throughout East Tennessee.

We're looking for someone who understands the staffing industry, knows how to build relationships with decision-makers, and enjoys the challenge of developing new business. This is an opportunity for an experienced staffing professional to take ownership of a territory with significant growth potential.

Compensation

Base Salary: $40,000 annually

Uncapped Gross Profit Commission:

  • 6% – First commission tier
  • 7% – Second commission tier
  • 8% – Top commission tier

The specific GP thresholds for each tier will be discussed during the interview process.

There is no cap on earnings. The more business you develop and grow, the more you earn.

What You'll Do

  • Develop new staffing clients throughout East Tennessee
  • Prospect and build relationships with HR leaders, plant managers, operations leaders, general managers, and business owners
  • Conduct face-to-face sales meetings and client presentations
  • Identify temporary, temp-to-hire, and workforce staffing opportunities
  • Negotiate pricing and staffing agreements
  • Maintain and grow relationships after accounts are opened
  • Partner closely with recruiting and operations to ensure successful client delivery
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently pursue new opportunities

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of staffing industry experience required
  • Staffing sales/business development experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of staffing pricing, markups, gross profit, and client agreements
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and generate new business
  • Existing relationships within the East Tennessee business community are highly desirable
  • Comfortable with cold calling, prospecting, networking, and face-to-face sales
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing a large territory independently
  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills

Experience selling staffing solutions within manufacturing, light industrial, hospitality, distribution, warehousing, automotive, construction, or related industries is especially valuable.

Territory

The position will be responsible for developing business throughout East Tennessee, with a primary focus on the greater Knoxville region and surrounding markets.

Local travel and regular face-to-face client meetings are an important part of the position.
