Job description

Catholic Charities of Long Island models the love of Jesus by offering dignified and compassionate care to poor and vulnerable neighbors of every faith and background. In-person service at more than 50 sites throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties is inspired by the Gospel call affirming the sacredness of every human life.

CCLI is looking for a part-time Bilingual Office Assistant with a generous heart and a desire to contribute to the well-being of others to carry out our mission on Long Island. By joining our team, you will share in the joy of providing “care with dignity and life with hope.”


Responsibilities:

  • Answer phones and direct callers to appropriate area. Review Front Desk Report for total cash and checks received for each day. Finish daily fee log report.
  • Complete insurance billing and data entry, insurance verifications, and insurance eligibility. Submit insurance authorization as required.
  • Monitor client self-pay financial agreements, outstanding balances, invoices and conduct outreach to obtain payments.
  • Complete a daily bank deposit slip. Make bank deposits twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays).
  • Complete all onboarding employment/personnel paperwork. Prepare documentation for Clinic Supervisor’s and/or

Program Director’s signature and forward to appropriate Agency department

  • Oversee the prompt processing of workmen’s compensation paperwork and Incident Reports submitted to Human Resources.
  • Coordinate building and equipment maintenance and service calls. Prepare service contracts and lease agreements for required work as well as monthly Health and Safety Report.

Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Three years of office clerical, administrative or secretarial experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) capability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
  • Detail oriented with ability to manage time and priorities.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License.


Schedule: 8 hours per week - flexible

Rate of Pay:  $23 per hour.

 

This rate of pay serves as a good faith estimate. Actual pay is based on a number of factors which may include a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience and work location. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation, such as the value of benefits, which may be applicable to this position.
