Job description

Position Overview

As a Full-Time Licensed Mental Health Counselor at First Base Therapy, located in Stockton, California, you will play a crucial role in helping individuals navigate their mental health challenges. Your expertise will guide clients toward reclaiming their mental well-being through tailored therapeutic interventions and ongoing support. This position is fully remote, allowing you to engage with clients from the comfort of your home while still making a significant impact in their lives.

About the Organization

First Base Therapy is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health care that empowers individuals. Our mission is to help clients develop healthier coping mechanisms, enhance their emotional well-being, and achieve personal growth. We believe in fostering an inclusive environment that values diverse perspectives and promotes healing through evidence-based practices. Our team comprises licensed professionals who are committed to the highest standards of care.

Work Environment

This role is designed to provide a remote work setting, allowing for flexible scheduling while ensuring that you can interact meaningfully with clients. Despite the virtual nature of the practice, you will collaborate closely with fellow clinicians and administrative staff through digital platforms. Our outpatient office structure supports a hybrid approach to therapy, allowing you to meet the needs of diverse client populations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor will involve a variety of essential tasks aimed at delivering quality care:

  • Client Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments to evaluate clients' mental health concerns, integrating information from client interviews and standardized diagnostic tools.
  • Treatment Planning: Design and implement personalized treatment plans based on individual needs, setting measurable goals and regularly evaluating progress.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Facilitate ongoing therapy sessions through modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions, ensuring that each session effectively addresses client goals.
  • Skill Development: Help clients develop practical life skills, including stress management techniques and coping strategies, that empower them to manage their mental health outside of therapy.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records using electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations, monitoring client progress and treatment effectiveness.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will cater to a diverse clientele, including adults and adolescents facing various mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment disorders. Many clients seek your expertise to address specific challenges stemming from life transitions, relationship issues, and personal development. Your ability to connect with clients from different backgrounds will be invaluable in establishing therapeutic rapport and fostering meaningful change.

Qualifications

To excel in this position, candidates must possess:

  • A Master’s degree or doctoral degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field.
  • A valid California license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in good standing.
  • At least two years of professional counseling experience in a clinical or community setting.
  • A solid understanding of evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to individual client needs.
  • Proficient use of electronic health records and excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following will enhance your application:

  • Experience in telehealth service delivery and familiarity with necessary technologies for remote counseling.
  • Additional certifications in specialized therapy techniques or treatment approaches (e.g., trauma-informed care).
  • Background in group therapy facilitation or community outreach programs.
Compensation and Benefits

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of USD 115,000 to USD 120,000 annually. Alongside financial compensation, you will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance to support your overall health and well-being.
  • An employer-matched 401(k) plan to help you save for your future.
  • Opportunities for continuing education and professional development to foster your growth.
  • Complimentary therapy sessions for our staff, reaffirming our commitment to mental health.
Career Growth Opportunities

At First Base Therapy, we emphasize professional development and career advancement within our organization. As you grow in your role, you will have access to ongoing training, mentorship opportunities, and the potential for leadership roles within specialized therapeutic areas. Your professional ambitions will be supported as you work toward becoming a leading voice in the mental health field.

Why Join Our Team

You should consider joining First Base Therapy not only for the fulfilling work of transforming lives but also for the supportive and dynamic team culture. We prioritize a healthy work-life balance while empowering our counselors to make autonomous decisions in the best interest of their clients.
