Located in Johnson City, Texas, Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa offers authentic Texan hospitality. SUMMARY
Under general supervision, the Sales & Events Intern performs a variety of administrative, customer service, and event coordination duties while gaining hands-on experience in hospitality sales and resort event operations. This internship is designed to provide exposure to resort sales, catering, group business, weddings, winery events, and guest experience management within a luxury resort environment.
Interns will work closely with the Sales & Events team to develop professional hospitality skills, support revenue-generating initiatives, and assist in creating memorable guest experiences throughout the resort.
DUTIES
The following reflects managements definition of essential functions for this position but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time due to business needs or reasonable accommodation.
Sales & Catering Support
  • Support the sales team with booking, planning, and coordinating resort events while maintaining exceptional customer service
  • Assist with responding to inquiries for weddings, corporate events, group bookings, winery experiences, and catered functions
  • Assist with sales presentations, catering calls, and client follow-up communication
  • Coordinate event menus and operational details with the Culinary and Banquet teams as directed
  • Assist in preparing banquet event orders (BEOs), rooming lists, event resumes, and client correspondence
  • Maintain accurate records in sales software and property management systems
  • Support revenue-generating initiatives through prospecting, lead follow-up, and client relationship building
  • Monitor booking space and assist with tracking event and group revenue information
Event Coordination & Resort Operations
  • Coordinate VIP arrivals, welcome amenities, and guest experiences
  • Assist with event setup preparation and operational support during weddings, banquets, winery events, and resort functions
  • Conduct resort site inspections for prospective clients in the absence of a sales manager
  • Coordinate vendor communication, rental orders, entertainment scheduling, and event logistics as directed
  • Assist with show rooms, promotional materials, welcome cards, and sales collateral requests
  • Attend resort events and assist with guest interaction, hosting, and operational execution
  • Support registration procedures, payment collection, and event documentation
  • Work closely with Front Office, Banquets, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Spa, and Winery teams to ensure smooth event execution
  • Assist with maintaining resort event calendars and departmental schedules
Marketing & Guest Experience Exposure
  • Assist with creating flyers, promotional materials, vouchers, and event collateral
  • Take photos and videos during resort events for promotional and operational use
  • Learn hospitality sales strategies, guest engagement techniques, and luxury resort service standards
  • Gain exposure to wedding planning, group sales, catering operations, and resort programming
  • Participate in leadership meetings and operational discussions to better understand hospitality sales management
JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Intention to pursue or current enrollment in a degree program related to Hospitality Management, Sales, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
  • High school juniors/seniors, college students, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Professional demeanor with a willingness to learn in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing operational needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer skills preferred
  • Availability to work onsite during the internship program
WORKING CONDITIONS
Works primarily indoors throughout shift within a large resort property. Position may require movement between multiple departments and event locations across the property. Some outdoor event exposure may occur depending on resort programming and event schedules.

SCHEDULE
