Job description

Position Overview

The Branch Manager leads all aspects of branch performance — driving deposit growth, developing staff, and building meaningful relationships with both new and existing customers. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable coaching a team, making outside sales calls, and resolving complex customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a branch sales and marketing strategy to grow deposits, loans, and partner referrals
  • Establish and align individual and team sales goals to maximize branch productivity
  • Conduct regular outside sales calls to existing and new business clients
  • Promote the bank through active community involvement, leveraging local contacts to build a pipeline of new business
  • Cross-sell and refer customers to appropriate bank partners to deepen relationships and grow share of wallet
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team
  • Ensure staff are properly trained to meet individual and branch sales goals
  • Hold team members accountable to individual performance targets and overall branch goals
  • Conduct performance evaluations and career development conversations
  • Foster a culture of open, honest, and consistent feedback
  • Set and model high customer service standards
  • Resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and problems with professionalism and efficiency
  • Coach team members on operational responsibilities, risk awareness, and service excellence
  • Educate and demo consumer and business digital banking products and services
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 4 years of retail banking experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • At least 2 years of community development or sales experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and bank-approved software systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; professional presence in all interactions
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and results-driven with a genuine focus on client outcomes
  • Flexible availability and willingness to support branch scheduling needs
