Description

The President serves as the Bank's chief growth, sales, and operational executive and is responsible for leading the execution of the strategic vision established by the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors. The President provides day-to day leadership and management of the Bank's operations, branch network, lending, deposit, and customer relationship functions, ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives and organizational performance goals. The President is accountable for driving sustainable growth in loans, deposits, non-interest income, customer relationships, and market share while fostering a high-performance sales and relationship banking culture throughout the organization. 

This position provides leadership to the Bank's market-facing and revenue-generating business units, including Regional Presidents, Commercial Lending, Mortgage Banking, Marketing, Wealth Management, Insurance, and Real Estate. The President works collaboratively with the CEO and CFO to ensure strategic alignment across all business lines and to achieve the Bank's short-term and long-term objectives.


This position is based in Orange City, Iowa.  The President must reside in or relocate to the Orange City area and maintain a strong community presence to support customer relationship development, leadership of the Bank, and its affiliate businesses.

Requirements

Strategic Growth Leadership

  • Implement and execute the strategic initiatives established by the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Develop and lead strategies to achieve loan growth, deposit growth, customer acquisition, market expansion, and revenue objectives.
  • Monitor market trends, competitive conditions, and economic factors to identify growth opportunities.
  • Recommend growth initiatives, new markets, products, and strategic partnerships.

Sales & Business Development Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performance sales culture throughout the Bank.
  • Establish sales goals and performance expectations for all market-facing business units ensuring accountability, execution, and measurable progress toward strategic initiatives.
  • Drive accountability for branch and business line performance, including revenue generation, loan production, deposit growth, customer relationship development, and achievement of strategic growth initiatives.
  • Partner with market leaders to identify opportunities for cross-selling and relationship expansion.
  • Promote collaboration between commercial, agricultural, mortgage, consumer, treasury management, wealth management, insurance teams, and real estate teams to deliver a seamless customer experience and capitalize on cross-selling opportunities.

Leadership of Regional Banking Teams

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to Regional Presidents.
  • Ensure consistent execution of sales strategies across all markets.
  • Monitor production, pipeline activity, customer development efforts, and market performance.
  • Support succession planning and talent development within lending and market leadership functions.

Mortgage & Real Estate Growth

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Mortgage Manager.
  • Maintain oversight of mortgage production, pipeline activity, referral development, and market growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with mortgage leadership and real estate lending teams to identify opportunities for increased market penetration and customer acquisition.
  • Support development of referral networks with realtors, builders, developers, and community partners.

Commercial Lending Leadership

  • Provide leadership and direction to the Commercial Lending Manager.
  • Support commercial lending growth strategies while maintaining sound credit quality standards.
  • Collaborate with lending leaders to ensure production goals are achieved while balancing risk and profitability objectives.

Marketing & Brand Development

  • Partner with Marketing leadership to ensure alignment between sales objectives, branding strategies, customer acquisition efforts, and community engagement activities.
  • Promote a  unified sales and marketing strategy throughout the organization.
  • Support market development initiatives and community visibility efforts.

Wealth Management, Insurance, & Real Estate Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the Bank's Wealth Management and Insurance, and Real Estate businesses.
  • Collaborate with Wealth Management, Insurance, and Real Estate leaders to develop growth strategies, increase market penetration, and enhance customer relationships.
  • Promote a coordinated approach to customer relationship management across banking, wealth management, insurance services, and real estate services.
  • Drive cross-functional referral programs and relationship expansion opportunities that strengthen customer retention and increase non-interest income, and support company-wide growth.
  • Monitor production, business development activity, profitability, and strategic growth initiatives for both Wealth Management, Insurance, and Real Estate divisions.
  • Ensure alignment between the Bank's strategic objectives and the business plans of its affiliate companies.
  • Foster collaboration among banking, wealth management, insurance, and real estate teams to maximize referral opportunities, deepen customer relationships, and enhance the overall customer experience.

Executive Collaboration

  • Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team alongside the CEO and CFO.
  • Work collaboratively across organizational boundaries to ensure strategic alignment and enterprise-wide success.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure operational capabilities effectively support growth initiatives.
  • Partner with the CFO to evaluate financial performance, profitability, budgeting, and growth opportunities.
  • Assist the CEO in developing and executing strategic initiatives, succession plans, and organizational objectives.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, communication, and shared ownership across all functions of the organization.

Other Duties

  • As a part of the overall team of  bank employees, this position may be requested to assist in the support of other bank activities.
  • Will have extensive contact with the public and conduct relationships in a manner that will enhance the overall image and marketing efforts of the bank.
  • Participate in outside civic activities that enhance the bank, personal growth, and the community.
  • Ensures proper maintenance and management of Bank's facilities, equipment, vendors, timely response to issues or concerns.

The CEO remains the continuing strategic leader of the organization. The President serves as the CEO's primary strategic partner in executing the Bank's growth objectives and organizational priorities. Working collaboratively with the CEO and CFO, the President fosters enterprise-wide alignment, supports Board relations, and leads the Bank's market-facing functions to achieve sustainable growth, profitability, and long-term success.
