Job Description

Small CPA firm looking for an accounting candidate to join our team.  Job duties include posting and verifying various transactions such as bank, payroll, etc.  Researching and resolving account discrepancies, maintaining records and account status.  This is a great opportunity to work closely with senior level accountants, and a licensed CPA and to be a part of a team and learn from that effort.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  None

Duties and Responsibilities:

§  Records numerical and financial data to produce financial records.

§  Knowledgeable computer skills (Word, Excel)

§  Ensures financial data is entered correctly and accurately.

§  Preparation and entry of Journal Entries

§  Generates accounting reports for cash receipts, accounts payable and receivable, expenses, and profits and losses.

§  Reconciliation of Bank Accounts

§  Reconciles and reports differences or issues found in financial records.

§  Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills &Abilities:

§  Knowledge of accounting principles

§  Ability to use accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data.

§  Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment.

§  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

§  Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.

§  Excellent written and oral communication skills.

§  Knowledge of Quickbooks preferred

§  Well organized, motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and with a team

Education and Experience:

§  Recent Degreed Accountant

§  Associate degree with accounting coursework preferred.

§  Bookkeeping experience preferred (1 year).
