Machine Operator - Packaging/Palletizing - Nigh Shift
Join our dynamic food manufacturing team at Diamond Pet Foods as a Machine Operator specializing in Packaging and Palletizing! Opening is for Night Shift with working hours of 5:00 pm - 5:25 am. This energetic role offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment in a fast-paced, quality and safety-focused environment. You will be instrumental in ensuring high-quality packaging, efficient materials handling, and seamless production flow. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Efficiently and correctly operate the bagger packaging machine.
Perform changeover (one product to another).
Perform quality checks (seal checks, correct bag, weight, size, and shape) and document on Quality Control Log as required.
Record shift production on the Quality Control Log.
Perform metal detector checks and document on Critical Control Point Log.
Retain product samples.
Maintain steady flow of product per Production requirements.
Read and understand production schedule.
Set up printer with accurate code date.
Make needed adjustments to bagger machine.
Efficiently and correctly operate the Palletizer machine.
Scan pallets in from the production line utilizing a scan gun.
Answer palletizer machine alarms and troubleshoot accordingly.
Fix broken bags.
Maintain shrink wrap in palletizer machine and troubleshoot.
Promptly remove pallets from the line and stage them accordingly utilizing a forklift.
Offload pallet trailers staging them accordingly.
Record shift production per the Palletizer Control Log.
Maintain accurate, complete, and legible paperwork
Perform adjustments and changeover such as pallet configuration, which type of pallet to be used, and conduct manual adjustments to the line.
Read schedules to determine type of product that will be running and which warehouse it is going to.
Read schedules to determine type of product that will be running.
Keep workstation and surrounding area in a clean and safe manner at all times.
Operate forklift.
Communicate via two-way radio on a regular basis.
Actively participate in coverage of employee absences.
Perform all other additional duties and functions as assigned by management.
ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working overtime is mandatory and requires full participation.
Cover for other employees' absences when called upon whether preplanned or on short notice.
Accept temporary assignment changes to assist other areas of the plant, maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
Cross-train in other job duties as required. This position is required to cross train as required by management and assist in all other areas as directed.
Complete work in a timely, accurate and thorough manner and be conscientious about assignments.
Understand, follow, and comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), and HACCP (CCP's) in accordance to company policy.
Must work in a safe, professional manner at all times while performing all functions in accordance with sound safety practices and procedures.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily indoors near operating equipment. Works in both low and high heights, cold, hot, dusty areas where loose particles may be present. Works near operating equipment and loud noise, such as forklift horns and machinery. Loose and dusty particles may be present.
