What you will do:

The Technician I is an exciting and dynamic position that will appeal to a creative, resourceful, high-energy, and organized person who thrives in service-oriented and customer-facing situations. The Technician I is responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, servicing, and cleaning of our ice machines. This role is critical in ensuring the optimal functionality and cleanliness of our equipment to meet our customers’ service requirements while operating with proficiency. The technician will assist in troubleshooting issues, conduct routine inspections, and execute scheduled maintenance tasks under the supervision of senior technicians. The ideal candidate will possess a keen attention to detail, a commitment to maintaining equipment in good working order, and a willingness to learn and grow within the field of ice machine repair and maintenance. The Technician I is dedicated to driving service success that not only enhances customer satisfaction but also maximizes customer retention through reliable and responsive service.

A successful Technician I will drive the following outcomes:

  1. Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the customer service experience by cleaning, installing and or repairing machines properly the first time, every time
  2. Increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the customer service experience by maintaining the proper truck stock and vehicle cleanliness and organization standards
  3. Leave every machine serviced in a condition that makes it easier for other Technicians to follow
  4. Follow all protocols around the completion and communication of work orders to prevent inaccuracies or delays in the billing process

How you will do it:

  • The Technician I performs duties as assigned including the installation of equipment, bagging/delivery of ice, cleaning, repairing, and maintaining ice machines. All levels of Technician - I, II, and III, are responsible for the installation, cleaning, and preventative maintenance of ice machine equipment as required
  • Perform comprehensive servicing, installation, and thorough cleaning of ice machines per Easy Ice standard operating procedures to ensure optimal performance and cleanliness
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers to ensure all work orders and assignments are completed on time and per Easy Ice standard operating procedures
  • Accurately document all actions performed during service visits by taking required photos, completing forms, reports, logs, and maintaining clear records of maintenance activities
  • Ensure proper truck stock at all times, avoiding unnecessary return trips and delays in customer service
  • Manage the pickup and delivery of ice as needed for service calls, ensuring timely and efficient service for customers
  • Identify and report any additional actions required to enhance customer satisfaction, including recommendations for parts replacement, cleaning, or equipment repairs
  • Facilitate the processing of accurate payments from customers and assist in the proper shutdown or removal of equipment when necessary
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop when applicable by adhering to all safety protocols and cleanliness standards
  • Ensure vehicle cleanliness and organization, removing all ice and trash at the end of each shift to improve safety and to uphold a professional appearance

What we are look for:

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Vocational/Technical Training preferred

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer service-oriented technical role or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Previous experience with ice machines or HVAC maintenance or similar equipment is a plus
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and electrical components related to ice machines or similar equipment
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting techniques and standard repair practices
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
  • Problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing issues
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to ensure service calls are completed in a timely manner
  • Skills in maintaining organized records and documentation of service activities
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering highest level of customer satisfaction

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Stands for extended periods of time (6+ hours per day)
