What is B2B software sales?

B2B software sales involves selling software products or services directly to other businesses rather than individual consumers. Sales professionals in this field often need strong communication skills, technical knowledge of the software, and the ability to manage long sales cycles and client relationships.

What are some common challenges faced in B2B software sales, and how can new hires effectively overcome them?

One common challenge in B2B software sales is navigating complex buying processes that involve multiple stakeholders and lengthy decision-making timelines. New hires can overcome this by developing strong relationship-building skills, understanding the specific needs of each decision-maker, and clearly articulating the value proposition of the software solution. Additionally, staying up-to-date on industry trends and collaborating closely with product and technical teams can help address client concerns and demonstrate credibility. Persistence, adaptability, and a proactive approach to follow-ups are essential for success in this dynamic environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a B2B Software Sales professional, and why are they important?

To thrive in B2B Software Sales, you need strong knowledge of sales strategies, client relationship management, and an understanding of software solutions, typically supported by a bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce, sales automation tools, and basic technical knowledge of the products are commonly required. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills help build trust and effectively address client needs. These skills and qualifications are crucial for meeting sales targets, fostering long-term client partnerships, and navigating the complex buying processes in business environments.

Cloud Software Sales Executive - B2B Closing Role

Revive ERP

Indianapolis, IN

$140K/yr

Full-time

Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement, PTO

Posted 3 days ago

Job description

If you've spent the last few years closing complex B2B software deals and you're ready for a role where your income is directly tied to your output — keep reading.

Revive ERP is one of North America's fastest-growing cloud ERP resellers. We sell to engineering and construction companies — businesses that are operationally complex, have real budget, and make decisions based on ROI. Our average deal size and sales cycle reward patient, consultative closers who know how to build trust with operations and finance leaders.

This is a full-cycle role. You prospect, you demo, you close. No SDR handing you meetings. No enterprise bureaucracy slowing you down.

What's In It For You

  • OTE $140,000 (50/50 base/commission after ramp) with uncapped upside
  • Company covers 85% of your health insurance premiums
  • Dental, vision, pet insurance, and legal services
  • 401(k) with company contributions and profit-sharing
  • 12 paid holidays plus PTO, sick days, and paid philanthropy time

Your Day-to-Day

  • Build your own pipeline through outbound prospecting, referrals, and networking
  • Run discovery calls that uncover real business pain — not just feature wishlists
  • Present and demo our cloud ERP solution to operations and finance decision-makers
  • Manage multi-stakeholder deals through negotiation and close
  • Partner with marketing and delivery to keep deals moving and handoffs clean
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting in CRM

You're a Fit If You

  • Have 2+ years closing B2B software or SaaS deals in the $50k-$200k range
  • Can point to a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding quota
  • Are comfortable owning your own outbound — you don't wait for leads to come to you
  • Have navigated deals with multiple stakeholders and longer sales cycles
  • Communicate clearly, present confidently, and negotiate without flinching
  • Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent real-world sales experience

Why This Role

The engineering and construction market is actively modernizing its back-office operations. Companies in this space are replacing outdated systems with cloud ERP — and they need a trusted partner to guide that decision. You'll be that person. Our delivery team's reputation for successful implementations means you're selling something you can actually stand behind.

Small team. Real autonomy. Direct access to leadership. If you've been a top performer somewhere larger and feel like the ceiling is too low — this is worth a conversation.
