AVP, Information Technology Assistant Manager

The AVP, Information Technology Assistant Manager supports the planning, administration, security, and daily operations of the Bankโ€™s technology. Assists in managing IT staff, overseeing technology projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining system availability and delivering exceptional support to employees. This role serves as a key resource in protecting the Bankโ€™s information assets while supporting business objectives, operational efficiency, and customer service.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in IT management, hands on experience with computer networks and software instillation, proficiency in working with office applications, knowledge of service desk tools and personnel management experience. A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, MIS or similar field and knowledge of Financial Industry applications preferred.

AVP, Information Technology Assistant Manager VP, Information Technology Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The AVP, IT Assistant Manager supports the planning, administration, security, and daily operations of the Bankโ€™s technology. Assists in managing IT staff, overseeing technology projects, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining system availability and delivering exceptional support to employees. This role serves as a key resource in protecting the Bankโ€™s information assets while supporting business objectives, operational efficiency, and customer service.


JOB RESPONSBILITIES:


  • Provide oversight of the daily operations of the Information Technology department.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop IT team members
  • Assist with workload management, project prioritization, and resource allocation.
  • Help drive department transformation which may include streamlining processes and documentation, implementing data analytics & continuous audit, improving indicators & performance metrics.
  • Support the administration and maintenance of servers, networks, telecommunications systems, and end-user devices.
  • Monitor security alerts, investigate incidents, and coordinate response activities.
  • Coordinate and participate in technology projects including system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Participate in audits, examinations, and regulatory reviews
  • Assist with vendor management, service contracts, and technology procurement.
  • Look after the purchase of the software and hardware systems and plan proper budget and quotations for the systems
  • Provide training and necessary assistance for the employees involved in implementation and maintenance of the software systems
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base resources.
  • Analyze recurring issues and implement long-term solutions.
  • Maintain high service standards and end-user satisfaction.
  • Assist in evaluating emerging technologies and industry trends.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of the specifications of the software to be installed in the computers and make necessary pre-installations
  • Ability to troubleshoot any kind of systems related problems and maintain security of the systems
  • Proficient working with the office applications
  • Have good knowledge of Financial industry applications and interfaces a plus
  • Knowledge on service desk tools, ITIL
  • Have good Troubleshooting skills


SKILLS:

  • Strong understanding of banking technology systems and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, virtualization platforms, and network administration.
  • Understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experience within a financial institution or highly regulated industry is preferred.
