Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice. The Center ensures understanding and values differences in people of diverse cultures, ethnic origins, sexual orientation, disabilities and beliefs.Overview: The Counseling and Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Department provides a continuum of essential services to the most vulnerable youth in our community, including two crisis nurseries, an emergency shelter, permanent and transitional housing, a food and clothing pantry, street outreach, and support for minor victims of commercial sexual exploitation.The Transitional Living Program Assistant Manager is a full-time 12-month position that includes weekend, evening, and holiday shifts. The Transitional Living Program (TLP) includes a group living environment at the Arnett House and an apartment model at Devonshire. The Assistant Manager assists program staff as they strive to engage and establish mutually respectful, trusting relationships with the youth we serve. Clients are approached from a strengths- and asset-based perspective, and partnerships are formed with them to help identify issues, concerns, and needs. The goal of the TLP team is to provide care and support to youth in a safe and respectful environment, and to work with them to build their independent skills and address the issues that led to their homelessness, so they can ultimately secure and maintain a stable living environment.The Assistant Program Manager assists the Transitional Living Program Manager in overseeing operations and programming. Duties include staff supervision and training; administrative assignments, life skills training, and direct client care.Schedule: Full Time 35 hours per week. On-Call RHY Supervisor rotation (for 1 week, every 6-7 weeks). This emergency response system is intended to provide after-hours and weekend support to several residential programsResponsibilities:Staff orientation and trainingIndividual supervision and documentationFacilitation of weekly group supervisionProgram quality assuranceCase consultationProgram and Staff schedulingAssist in oversight of Case Managers, Life Skills Specialists, and Relief Counselors' professional development and supervisionOversight of petty cash, monthly fire drills, and volunteer tracking.Maintenance of a caring and cooperative environmentMaintenance of client confidentiality consistent with agency policiesSupervision of daily routine and structureCrisis prevention/intervention and conflict resolutionIntake, assessment, and referral.Transportation of clients via agency vansRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Service or related field AND 5 years' relevant experience with 1 year management or supervisor experience OR equivalent combination / Master's Degree preferredDriver's licenseSkills: Strong Knowledge of child and adolescent developmentKnowledge of youth serving systemsStrong time management and multi-tasking skillsExcellent literacy and communication skillsKnowledge of community resourcesAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft OfficePay Rate: $22-$25 per hour The Center for Youth Provides Equal Employment Opportunities
