Job description

Established in 2024, the Jewish Security Network (JSN) is an independent security agency dedicated to empowering the Jewish community to proactively safeguard itself. Working in partnership with law enforcement and other security organizations, JSN promotes a culture of personal responsibility, vigilance, and preparedness.

Position Overview

The National Security Program Manager will support the operational delivery and continued growth of a national community security initiative, with a primary focus on supporting community institutions and stakeholders across Ontario, and other regions of Canada, as required.

Reporting to the Director of the National Security Program, the Assistant Manager will assist in strengthening institutional preparedness, enhancing community engagement, and supporting the implementation of physical security and emergency preparedness initiatives. The role serves as a key operational and relationship-management function within the broader national security program.

This position is suited for a motivated, organized, and community-oriented professional who is comfortable working in dynamic environments, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and engaging directly with institutional leadership, volunteers, vendors, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Stakeholder Support

  • Assist in maintaining strong working relationships with community institutions, leadership teams, volunteers, and stakeholders across Ontario and other regions as required.
  • Serve as a primary operational point of contact for smaller and developing communities requiring ongoing security support and coordination.
  • Support outreach initiatives designed to strengthen institutional preparedness and community resiliency.

Security Assessments & Preparedness

  • Conduct physical security assessments of community institutions and prepare professional written assessment reports.
  • Support institutions in prioritizing and implementing security recommendations and infrastructure improvements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of emergency protocols, procedures, and preparedness plans.
  • Coordinate and support emergency exercises, drills, and training initiatives.

Operations & Project Coordination

  • Coordinate security-related projects and operational initiatives across multiple communities simultaneously.
  • Support implementation of physical security enhancements, including coordination with vendors and contractors.
  • Assist with grant-related support, documentation, and project tracking tied to security enhancement initiatives.
  • Support security planning and operational coordination for community events and gatherings.

Volunteer & Training Support

  • Assist in recruiting, coordinating, and maintaining community security volunteer networks.
  • Deliver or support security awareness and preparedness training sessions for community institutions and groups.
  • Support community watch and volunteer security initiatives during events and periods of heightened concern.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in security operations, law enforcement, emergency management, corporate security, community security, nonprofit operations, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple active priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication abilities.
  • Strong written communication skills, including report writing and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and operate effectively in fast-paced or evolving environments.
  • Experience conducting assessments, coordinating operational projects, or supporting preparedness initiatives is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Jewish communal organizations and environments is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel regularly throughout Ontario and occasionally nationally.

Working Conditions

  • In-person role with approximately 35% travel.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends based on operational requirements, community events, or emergent situations.
  • Ability to travel to smaller and remote communities as required.
  • Salary: 80,000 CAD Annually
