Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Selected candidates must be willing to adjust workdays/hours based on the department's needs. Under the guidance of the Executive Operations Officer, the Associate Vice Chancellor provides strategic leadership for the District's Safety, Construction, and Facilities functions, supporting the San Diego Community College District's commitment to maintaining safe, efficient, and high-quality environments for students, faculty, and staff.

This position oversees districtwide facilities services, capital improvement and construction programs, maintenance and operations, safety programs, and supports enterprise services that enhance the daily operations of the District and its colleges. The Associate Vice Chancellor collaborates with campus leadership, district departments, and external agencies to plan, develop, and maintain facilities and operational services that align with institutional priorities and regulatory requirements. The Associate Vice Chancellor is responsible for guiding major construction and renovation projects, ensuring effective facilities maintenance and operations, administering safety programs, and supporting enterprise services that enhance the overall campus environment.

This role provides collaborative and inclusive leadership, promotes innovation and continuous improvement, and ensures that district operations support the San Diego Community College District's educational mission, long-term sustainability, and strategic goals. Desired Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a related field to construction management, facilities services, risk management, or similar, and ten (10) years of increasingly responsible experience in construction management, facilities planning and management, or a related field, preferably in the California public education sector; and six to eight years progressively responsible and varied experience in a field associated with or utilizing risk management, preferably employee insurance programs.
