Our team in Hudson, Ohio is growing, and we are looking for a skilled mid-level Software Developer to take meaningful ownership of software solutions that keep healthcare providers running.

Position Overview

The Software Developer is a mid-level individual contributor responsible for independently designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software solutions across a range of business projects. Working with minimal supervision alongside Senior Software Developers, the CTO, and product managers, you will take end-to-end ownership of features, lead code reviews, provide technical guidance to junior developers, and help uphold the engineering standards that make Etactics a trusted name in healthcare technology. This role sits at the center of our development team, experienced enough to drive work independently, and collaborative enough to raise the team around you.

Key Responsibilities

CORE DEVELOPMENT

Implement new or modified software products and ongoing business projects with minimal supervision, making sound technical decisions within established architectural guidelines.

Liaise with Senior Software Developers to ensure software projects meet technical and business requirements.

Implement and manage software programs throughout their full development and delivery lifecycle.

Test work thoroughly at each stage of development and contribute to quality assurance activities across the team.

Identify areas for modification in existing programs and discuss recommendations with the CTO and/or a Senior Software Developer.

Write and implement efficient, readable, and maintainable code that meets team standards.

Evaluate and determine the operational practicality of proposed solutions.

Develop and follow quality assurance procedures to maintain software reliability and integrity.

Deploy software tools, processes, and metrics as directed by a Senior Software Developer.

Maintain and upgrade existing solutions and systems as directed by a Senior Software Developer.

Collaborate closely with fellow developers and product managers to continuously improve existing solutions.

TEAM CONTRIBUTION

Lead code reviews, providing constructive and actionable feedback that elevates overall team code quality.

Mentor Associate Software Developer team members through pairing sessions, code reviews, and day-to-day knowledge sharing.

Investigate and resolve complex software issues, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.

Contribute to technical documentation including architecture decisions, API specifications, and process runbooks.

Participate actively in Agile ceremonies, standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and help the team stay on track.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is a plus.

Experience

3 to 5 years of professional software development experience, with a demonstrated track record of delivering complete features independently.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

Solid knowledge of the software development life cycle (SDLC), including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.

Demonstrated ability to develop unit tests for individual code components and complete applications.

Experience working across a variety of software development projects and problem domains.

Proficiency in at least one programming language, with breadth across multiple languages or frameworks.

Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions within established guidelines.

Experience conducting or participating in code reviews with a focus on quality and constructive feedback.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate across development and product teams.
