The Hartford's Tech, Data, Analytics & Cyber organization is hiring early career engineers who are excited to solve real business problems and contribute to meaningful, enterprise-scale solutions.

The Tech Catalyst Program is a structured, immersive experience designed to accelerate your development as a modern software engineer. You will gain hands-on experience delivering technology solutions while building foundational and emerging skills across full-stack engineering, cloud platforms, and AI-enabled systems.

This is a hybrid role based in Columbus, OH.

What You'll Do

Contribute to modern engineering teams

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications using technologies such as Java, .NET, React, and Angular
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from ideation through production support
  • Apply engineering best practices, including clean code, test automation, and CI/CD
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and data partners

Build cloud and platform capabilities

  • Develop and deploy applications using cloud-native architectures (AWS, with GCP for AI capabilities)
  • Work with APIs, microservices, and containerized solutions
  • Support cloud modernization and platform engineering initiatives

Apply AI and data-driven engineering

  • Leverage foundational AI/ML concepts within software solutions
  • Utilize AI-assisted development tools (including Google Vertex) to enhance productivity
  • Support integration of AI and automation into business workflows and applications

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$70,000 - $105,000
