NorthropGrumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Reliability Engineer Level1/Level2 based out of Dulles, VA.

What You'll Get to Do

  • Work directly with the design and systems team to meet proposed requirements.
  • Perform failurerate predictions using MILHDBK217F or similar standards based on bill of materials (BOMs), stress analysis, and thermal analysis.
  • Review and approve electrical stress analysis, worstcase circuit analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and reliability analysis provided by the design team and vendors.
  • Oversee and guide technical assessments and discussions regarding design and impact on reliability.
  • Support programmilestone reviews such as SRR, PDR, and CDR as a Reliability Engineer.
  • Support proposals as a technical contributor and reviewer.
  • Work closely with systems engineering, development, O&M, and management professionals to ensure that the program lifecycle is accomplished with high quality and efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

  • For Associate Reliability Engineer: A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace engineering, Electrical engineering, or another STEM discipline.
  • For Reliability Engineer: A Bachelor's degree in Aerospace engineering, Electrical engineering, or another STEM discipline and 2 years of related experience or a Master's Degree in Aerospace engineering, Electrical engineering, or another STEM discipline.
  • Ability to understand and interpret electrical schematics/drawings and functional block diagrams.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as MILHDBK217F, MILSTD1629, SMCS013, EEEINST002.
  • Ability to create reliability block diagrams and faulttree diagrams.
  • Familiarity with the FMEA/FMECA process and requirements.
  • Familiarity with electrical stress analysis and worstcase circuit analysis.
  • Ability to develop technical solutions to potential reliability and availability problems.
  • Adapt to probability and statistical tools/principles to recognize and solve problems involving nonstandard configurations/definitions of system success.
  • Ability to utilize industry tools to conduct reliability analysis.
  • Candidate must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance as well as active SCI access within a reasonable period of time as determined by the company. Continued employment thereafter will be subject to the candidate's maintenance of the required clearance and program access.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional degree or certificate in Reliability engineering
  • Familiarity with reliabilitymodeling tools such as Windchill Risk and Reliability Solutions, Blocksim (ReliaSoft), R, etc.
  • Experience reviewing or performing derating analysis and worstcase analysis.
  • Familiarity with other industry standards such as NSWC11, NPRD, FMD, 217plus, etc.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Assessment (RCA) and failure investigation.
  • Active U.S. Government clearance.
Primary Level Salary Range: $76,200.00 - $114,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
