Job description

We are currently seeking a Project Manager preferable with a strong focus and background in Substation Projects (Engineering services). The candidate will manage multi-disciplinary teams for the coordination and completion of projects on time and within budget. This role oversees all aspects of projects, including bid process, setting budgets, project staffing, monitoring, and project execution (internal and client meetings, billing, scheduled deliverables, client follow-up, and close-out).
Duties
  • Consistently manage multiple projects.
  • Apply standard Project Management methodologies to execute projects in alignment with the Client's Management Systems (QMS, EMS, ISO, etc.), with a focus on risk management, quality deliverables, schedule adherence and regulatory compliance.
  • Plan and manage projects with complicated dependencies, multiple phases, duration of 6 to 24 months and/or moderate complexity or regulatory significance.
  • Lead and direct engineering team meetings providing status, facilitating change controls, and managing resources for projects.
  • Participate and oversee team member review and acceptance of client deliverables ensuring that deliverables meet quality and schedule expectations.
  • Experience in design and construction administration, utility design/engineering and direct management of construction projects in Transmission, Distribution, and Substations is desired.
  • Oversee the planning of work to ensure optimal integration and coordination of both internal and external resources to facilitate timely delivery of services.
  • Interface with various levels of client staff and management from the project team, contractors, engineers, government agencies, and Client representatives. Should be comfortable interfacing with all levels of management.
  • Train/Mentor less experienced staff.
  • Prepare and adapt tools and techniques to facilitate efficient project execution.

Requirements
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
  • An Associate's Degree plus minimum 7 years directly related experience may be considered
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from PMI or the ability to obtain within six months of hire
