Position Description
At a Glance
Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Product Manager to join the Electrical Wiring Systems Pass and Seymour Team in Syracuse, NY or Charlotte, NC (hybrid work arrangement). This role will actively support the Residential product marketing team in areas including product launches, market research, sales team support, and channel growth. This individual will also gain experience in key product management skills and manage some of their own product lines, enabling them to grow into a future Product Manager role. The Associate Product Manager will play a key role in supporting both new product development and existing product line optimization, with an emphasis on data-driven decision-making and portfolio management. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication capabilities, a willingness to proactively research and solve problems, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. The Associate Product Manager will manage several product lines and support broader team initiatives, playing an important role in both new product development and product line optimization.
What Will You Do?
  • Support product management activities including product launches, market research, sales team engagement, and channel growth initiatives
  • Conduct SKU analysis and lead SKU rationalization efforts, identifying opportunities to optimize, streamline, and improve portfolio performance
  • Develop and maintain revenue, margin, and volume analytics to support product decisions and business reviews
  • Research and evaluate new product ideas, trends, and minor feature enhancements based on customer, market, and internal inputs
  • Support product line maintenance and profitability improvements, including identifying cost, sourcing, or design optimization opportunities (e.g., adorne wall plate portfolio)
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, Industrial Design, Sales, and Operations to gather inputs and support execution of key initiatives
  • The Associate Product Manager will manage several product lines and support broader team initiatives. He or she will play an important role in new product development, product line maintenance, field sales and distribution channel support, and marketing strategy development. Will gain a strong understanding of market dynamics and needs.
  • Complete critical product marketing tasks to help achieve sales and profit plans and reach targets set by major Legrand marketing initiatives. Will support product managers with activities such as competitive benchmarking, research into new product ideas or trends, development of launch materials (in coordination with marcom team), and attendance at trade and customer events. Will also engage in product development work through research (field visits or virtual meetings, survey creation).
  • Will directly manage some product lines within three months of assuming role, focused on maintaining existing offer, finding ways to increase efficiency or profitability, and potentially growing sales via line extensions/new offers.
  • Will lead efforts to rationalize existing product offers, including: analyzing legacy lines for opportunities, pruning redundant or obsolete products, and initiating activities to enhance profitability.
  • Participates in collateral development (sell sheets, cutsheets, videos) as well as promotional campaigns in support of existing lines and new product launches.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.

Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or a related technical field of study.
Required Skills:
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus, extract necessary information, as well as validate and communicate understanding of the information.
  • Must possess strong project management skills, including abilities to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data analysis
  • Proficient in the use of office computer applications, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word; strong written and telephone communications and presentation skills suitable for interacting with customer.
  • Must be highly collaborative and be able to work with numerous functions within the company. Legrand promotes an environment that encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers and all other internal business partners.
  • Shows initiative and adaptability by taking ownership, seeking out information, and asking thoughtful questions

Preferred Skills:
  • Relevant experience in a sales or marketing related position. Specific electrical product or electrical industry knowledge is an additional plus.
  • Requires good organizational, analytical and time management skills, ability to pay close attention to detail and being able to effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • A high degree of energy and self-motivation to deliver a high level of productivity is important.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com is a plus.
  • Desire to understand customer's needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customer.
  • Exposure to high-SKU, technically complex, or regulated product environments
