Position Summary The Associate Product Manager (APM) collaborates with the Product Managers and is responsible for researching, understanding, and communicating the
needs of suppliers to identify opportunities for the company. The APM will assist in setting the objectives and building a strategic product roadmap that fits with the overall strategy of the company. It is their job to coordinate activities between teams, including contracts, pricing, marketing and customer support to ensure a successful product launch.

Essential Functions and Duties
  • The APM will work closely with the Product Managers to learn strategic product development. They will collaborate to increase the profitability of existing products as well as develop new product launches for their assigned vendors. Their job is to understand and represent the needs of the supplier and define a vision for the product.
  • Under the supervision of the Product Manager, the APM will coordinate the activities to market the product, including product and pricing research, market trend analysis, competitive analysis, profitability analysis and forecasting.
  • Responsible for the development of the manufacturer relationships, assisting with the negotiation of optimal terms and tracking all service fees to ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Coordinate with operational teams including purchasing, sales ops, sales reps, finance, marketing and customer service to ensure each team's qualifications are met when implementing and managing initiatives.
  • The APM aligns product launch activities with marketing activities. They will implement the approved marketing initiatives including brand development and collateral creation which includes the core positioning and messaging for the product.
  • Provide the sales team and customer service with the necessary technical expertise to enable them to sell the product. This involves printed and electronic promotional material, product training, and relevant clinical papers/materials for category industry.
  • Work with the purchasing department to inform of purchase requirements and to deliver approved revenue and purchasing forecasts monthly or as needed.
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research.
  • Review product data to ensure that the field is kept up to date on new

developments regarding the Company's or competitors' products.
  • Act as point of first reference for all product related inquiries and work collaboratively with colleagues to address any issues that may arise.
  • Continuously strive to improve processes, service quality to internal and external customers, and employee relations. Collaborate with IT for continued process improvement.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences, networking events and manufacturer conferences as required.
  • Adheres specifically to all company policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws.
  • Display dedication to position responsibilities and achieve assigned goals and objectives.
  • Represent the Company in a professional manner and appearance at all times.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Required Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.

Required Experience:
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.

Required Skills:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have strong analytical skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must have excellent excel skills including the ability to use pivot tables, perform averages, weighted averages, calculate profit margins, or demonstrate the competency to learn.
  • Must be creative and innovative in problem solving and the formulation of solutions.
  • Must be a person who is able to effectively work on several simultaneous projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate great initiative and motivation in approaching their workload and enthusiasm to learn new interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with team members at every level.

Physical requirements Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for long periods and the ability to sit for extended periods. Must have the ability to work the hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled. The employee occasionally lifts up to 20 lbs. and occasionally kneels and bends. Must have the ability to travel occasionally. Working condition include normal office setting.
Mental Demands Learning, thinking, concentration and the ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy times. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent customer service.
