The Associate Pastor of Union College leads Union Churchs ministry college, preparing and developing in-house leaders as well as leaders who desire full-time occupational ministry. This position combines pastoral care with visionary and operational excellence to ensure the college thrives as a world-class institution that equips students for ministry leadership. The role requires strong strategic thinking, administrative skills, leadership abilities, and a passion for fostering spiritual and professional growth.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Vision

  • Oversee Union College by creating and implementing strategies to train, recruit, and develop students for ministry leadership while ensuring operational excellence and alignment with the vision and mission of Union Church.
  • Oversee Union Colleges operations, by recruiting and pastoring Union College team leaders to reach their full potential
  • Provide leadership to staff, volunteers, and students, fostering a culture of excellence and discipleship.

Program Development & Management

  • Manage the application process for new students
  • Evaluate and analyze learning and operational data to ensure effectiveness and address student needs.
  • Identify appropriate learning metrics for Union College and create customized evaluations to capture data
  • Oversee curriculum development, ensuring it remains relevant and impactful for ministry preparation.
  • Update and create curriculum to address current spiritual and organizational needs as led by the Senior Pastor.
  • Maintain enrollment, grading and attendance data ensuring it remains current and accurate.

Operational Oversight

  • Manage department-specific budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and alignment with church guidelines.
  • Create and implement policies and procedures to maintain the integrity of the college.

Pastoral Care

  • Provide pastoral leadership and care for Union College team and students, offering guidance, mentorship, and spiritual development.
  • Be available for ministry needs, including crisis situations, hospital visits, funerals, and weddings.
  • Participate in Sunday ministry activities, serving as Environments Oversight and offering one-on-one pastoral support as needed.

Partnerships & Outreach

  • Build and maintain relationships with Executive Pastors, Associate Pastors and Directors to foster collaboration
  • Build and maintain relationships with Union College Students, including regular campus visits/check-ins.

Union Church offers a generous compensation package. The salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
