Brightpoint is seeking qualified individuals to apply for the EMS Associate Instructor position to provide on-campus delivery of instruction at both the Chester and Midlothian campuses, with limited opportunity for online instruction. Assigned courses include primarily daytime and evening on-campus sections, at the Chester and Midlothian campuses. The Associate Instructor will teach the equivalent of 39-42 credits per academic year. There are no formal student advising or committee responsibilities. The Associate Instructor role is a restricted 9-month teaching position with salary and benefits.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Candidate must be a certified Paramedic with a minimum of two (2) years of field experience at that level. Applicants should hold an Associate's degree or higher in EMS or a related field from a regionally accredited institution. Prior teaching experience in EMS is required and preference will be given to those who have Education Coordinator credentials. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to student success, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential. The ideal candidate will understand and support the mission of the community college system and be flexible in teaching day, evening, weekend, hybrid, and online classes across various campus locations. A successful background check is required.
