Job description

The Role:

Under the supervision of the Manager of Application Engineering, the Associate Application Engineer, Electric Heat Trace (EHT) will analyze heat trace applications to design innovative, customer-focused solutions.ย ย 


You will work on customer quotes to develop cost-effective solutions for each unique electric heat trace application. The Associate Application Engineer position is vital in providing technical support to our sales team and will partner with design engineering to give design and order support across the organization.ย ย 

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and quote premium solutions for standard and customer-specific thermal heat trace applications.ย 
  • Coordinate quotation and order entry activities with sales force, engineering, and plant personnel, including sample orders and drawings for approval.ย 
  • Understand markets and competition in each market to manage quotations of competitive designs.ย 
  • Assist sales engineers with expertise in offering optimal thermal solutions for unique applications.ย 
  • Determine materials and related cost requirements for product designs by working with engineering and purchasing departments.ย 
  • Manage pricing and margin targets for crucial accounts and new opportunities.ย 
  • Become proficient in using product design and pricing tools.ย 
  • Assist customers and representatives in troubleshooting common problems with equipment or applications.ย 
  • Approve and support orders; strategically partner with design engineering and sales to be vital in designing and order support.ย 
  • Lead meetings with engineering, production, project management, finance, and sales to gain visibility and communicate accurate dates to customers for large order opportunities.ย 
  • Assist in documenting, analyzing, and improving processes.ย 
  • Support or facilitate process improvement projects and strategic projects as required.

Requirements:

  • At least 1+ years of related experience; an appropriate technical degree or equivalent experience is required.ย 
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering is preferred.ย 
  • Working experience with Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.ย 
  • AutoCAD and Bluebeam experience preferred but not required.ย 
  • Experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with solid organizational skills and attention to detail.ย 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in verbal, written, and presentation formats to all audiences.ย 
  • Strong customer service and time management skills.ย
