Job Summary:We are seeking a strong, dependable, and compassionate Supervisor In Charge (SIC) to oversee daily caregiving operations, support staff, maintain compliance, and ensure high-quality resident care across our residential assisted living homes.
Our intimate six-resident home allows Resident Ambassadors to provide personalized, relationship-centered care in a warm, family-like environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leadership, multitasking, hands-on caregiving, and creating a calm, organized environment for both residents and staff. Responsibilities include:
- Resident Care & Medication Administration
• Administer medications according to facility policy and North Carolina Family Care Home regulations
• Accurately document medication administration and resident care tasks
• Monitor residents for changes in condition and communicate concerns promptly to management, nurse, hospice, physicians, and families/POAs
• Review resident care plans and ensure services are delivered appropriately
• Respond quickly and compassionately to resident needs and emergencies
• Support infection control and safety procedures throughout the home
- Leadership & Operations
• Supervise caregiving staff during assigned shifts
• Ensure proper communication between shifts and departments
• Assist with staffing coordination and schedule support
• Monitor task completion and daily workflow
• Support training, accountability, and team communication
• Help maintain a positive, respectful work culture
- Compliance & Documentation
• Assist with resident charts, files, and documentation for state compliance and surveys
• Review communication logs and resident progress notes daily
• Ensure physician orders are transcribed, faxed, implemented, and documented correctly in QuickMAR or designated systems
• Ensure documentation is completed thoroughly and accurately
- Facility & Resident Support
• Ensure resident rooms and common areas remain clean, safe, and comfortable
• Contact maintenance for repairs or safety concerns
• Assist with housekeeping and laundry oversight as needed
• Assist with meal preparation and meal service, including therapeutic or modified diets
• Coordinate medical appointments and follow-up services including hospice, podiatry, lab work, dental, psych, x-ray, and physician visits
• Encourage resident engagement in activities and social interaction
Qualifications:
• Previous assisted living, family care home, memory care, or healthcare experience required
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
• Medication administration experience required
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and work independently
• Compassionate, professional, and team-oriented attitude
• CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
• Must be dependable and able to work in a fast-paced caregiving environment
Schedule:- Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- On call every other weekend
- Must be available to respond to urgent operational or resident care matters when on call
License/Certification:- PCA, CNA, Medtech Credential (Required)
