Job description

Performs client intake with families and individuals for our Weatherization program. Responsible for organizing and maintaining client files, reports, records, and other documents; as well as timely and accurate database entry, scheduling projects. Responsible for a wide variety of tasks in planning anf implementing energy conservation improvement. Reports directly to the Weatherization Department manager.
Requirements
Direct Services:
  • Meet with families and individuals to provide weatherization assistance and Screen for eligibility;
  • Make referrals as needed
  • Develop knowledge to answer questions regarding energy assistance, utility assistance, and weatherization programs; Ability to explain guidelines and procedures to staff, clients, and vendors
Admin Duties:
  • Develop knowledge and proficiency with CAC client database system to facilitate effective tracking, referral, and follow-up of client services
  • Assist with maintaining up to date record-keeping and filing system
  • Conduct cold calls, maintain client feedback and client surveys
  • Assist with maintaining professional relations with vendors
  • Provide reporting and communication functions with CAC staff, funders, and vendors
  • Prepare and maintain a 1-2-month production & project schedule for energy audits & energy conservation work
  • Prepare bid packages, solicit bids from contractors & review submitted bids with WX manager
  • Provide information for program reports
Other Duties:
  • Participate in required Trainings
  • Participate in required All Staff CAC trainings
  • Other duties as needed or assigned by Supervisor

Qualifications
Experience
  • Preferred: Volunteer or work experience at a social services agency, food bank, senior center, or community center.
  • Client or customer service positions

Education
  • Required: High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent
  • Preferred: Bachelor's or associate degree in social services, sociology, human development, or related field

Knowledge of:
  • Sensitivity to the challenges and needs of the low-income population, including barriers which may block achievement of goals.
  • Computer programs, including but not limited to: Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, Adobe PDF, and VoIP phone systems
  • Customer Service Skills including but not limited to: Empathy, Problem-Solving, Communication, Patience, Active Listening, Positive Attitude, Quick Response Time
  • Whitman County Resources and how to make referrals.

Ability to:
  • Communicate & work with people from different demographic, economic, ethnic, racial, educational, and social backgrounds
  • Work well under pressure, maintain professional and ethical conduct in collaborating with individuals and families seeking services.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers, supervisor, co-workers, vendors, other agencies, etc.
  • Work on a schedule that rotates in-office and at local outreaches.
  • Learn about home repair & energy conservation improvement standards, methods, techniques and materials
  • Willingness to travel for appointments, training, and conferences.

Certifications & Licenses
  • Must Have a Valid Driver's License
  • Acceptable completion of a drug test & criminal history background check
  • Insurability & ability to be bonded
  • Willingness to work throughout Whitman County
