Job description

SUMMARY: The Weatherization Program Specialist works collaboratively with our weatherization team to input assessment data into our IWX system, interview clients to determine eligibility for our services, and finance weatherization measures within the constraints of state/federal grants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned
Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when working with clients
Interview clients and assess their eligibility for the weatherization program
Handle confidential client information with discretion and professionalism
Learn and understand basic goals of the weatherization program
Work with weatherization assessors to ensure all weatherization measures are utilizing the proper materials
Assign funding sources to each weatherization measure
Ensure that weatherization measures conform to state and federal guidelines for the funding source assigned to them
Work with contractors to ensure proper work documentation for finished jobs
Create payment authorizations that conform to the constraints set forth by our finance department
Ensure proper record keeping within IWX and our department’s filing system
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Must be detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies and procedures, technical procedures, or government regulations
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to learn weatherization-specific regulations and policies
Ability to communicate effectively with contractors and clients
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED required
Associate degree or technical training preferred
Must have a reliable vehicle, a valid driver's license, and proof of insurance
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk or hear, and frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit in situations where it relates to dealing with people. Climbing stairs and lifting up to 25 lbs. is required. The noise level in the primary work environment is usually quiet as associated with the office environment.
