Job description

Summary of Duties

This position is responsible for pre-inspection energy audits on eligible homes, monitoring Weatherization Subcontractors, and conducting quality control post inspections of homes to ensure the installation of weatherization measures by subcontractors is completed and complies with all agency and program standards and regulations. Responsible for assisting in training all new Weatherization Inspectors and Subcontractors. Travels in eleven county service area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

Conduct pre- inspection audits on all eligible homes;

Conduct quality control post inspections of homes to ensure the installation of weatherization measures by subcontractors is completed and complies with all agency and program standards and regulations.

Enter all data acquired at pre-inspection audits into appropriate approved audit documents to determine the proper weatherization measures to be installed in homes and to produce a work order for contractors, and create a permanent record for auditing purposes;

Monitor Weatherization Subcontractors;

Travels to and conducts quality control inspections on all homes weatherized to assure work complies with the standards required by the agency and conditions of the program contract from the federal or state funding sources;

Perform gas leak testing, blower door testing, carbon monoxide testing and combustion appliance draft testing as required by program;

Operate combustion appliance testing equipment and blower door equipment and calculate and enter information on required forms;

Handle client complaints concerning sub-contractors and/or auditors or work completed on their homes;

Help with training sub-contractors and new Weatherization Inspectors on procedures and guidelines of the Weatherization program;

Maintain complete knowledge of all guidelines and standards or changes in standards set forth by the federal and state funding sources;

Assist with agency odd jobs, as needed;

Work with Manager on meeting production goals and schedules for the Weatherization program.

Attend trainings and conferences as mandated by the state agency or director as part of continuing education;

Use program calculation formulas to calculate amounts of insulation and ventilation requirements and calculate air changes per hour using blower door testing results;

Enter weatherization information into state and internal databases and tracking systems;

Work cooperatively with clients, sub-contractors, energy auditors, community building inspectors and organizations whose activities can benefit the program;

Provide client energy education to program recipients;

Comply with random drug testing procedures;

Operate a forklift truck to assist in warehouse, when needed.
