Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs


JOB SUMMARY:

The Division of Student Affairs at Clinton College invites applications to fill the position of Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs with a start date of July 1, 2026. The Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs (AVP) provides strategic leadership, vision, and administrative oversight for key areas within the Division of Student Affairs at Clinton College. The AVP is responsible for enhancing the student experience by fostering a supportive, inclusive, and engaging campus environment that promotes student success, retention, and holistic development. This position plays a critical role in advancing the College's mission and supporting a student-centered campus culture.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Leadership and Administration

- Provide leadership and oversight for Student Affairs functional areas, including Residential Life, Student Conduct, Student Activities, Counseling Services, and Student Engagement.

- Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives that support student success and well-being.

- Serve as a key member of the Student Affairs leadership team.

- Represent the Division on college-wide committees.


Student Development and Engagement

- Promote a vibrant campus life experience.

- Oversee programs that foster student retention and graduation.

- Support student organizations and campus programming.


Residential Life and Student Conduct

- Oversee Residential Life operations.

- Ensure fair administration of student conduct processes.


Crisis Management and Student Support

- Respond to student crises and emergencies.

- Collaborate with campus partners.

- Support a safe campus environment.


Assessment and Compliance

- Develop assessment strategies.

- Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.

- Utilize data for decision-making.


Budget and Resource Management

- Assist in budget development and management.


Work Environment & Expectations

- Evening/weekend work required.

- On-call responsibilities.



Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

- Master's degree in related field

- 5-7 years of leadership experience


Preferred:

- Doctorate

- HBCU experience
