Formative 3D is seeking an Assistant Technical Project Manager with an industrial engineering or operations background to support production tracking, supply chain coordination, and manufacturing systems implementation. This role is ideal for a junior‑level professional eager to grow into manufacturing leadership while helping drive efficiency across additive manufacturing workflows.

You'll work closely with production leadership and cross‑functional teams to maintain visibility across jobs, materials, and performance metrics as we launch and scale our new production facility.

Key Responsibilities

You will collaborate closely with production and operations leadership to:

  • Maintain visibility of job status using MES, dynamic scheduling tools, or similar production tracking systems
  • Track jobs through printing, post‑processing, quality control checkpoints, and assembly
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials, consumables, and outsourced components
  • Implement and support material tracking processes to optimize raw material delivery and availability
  • Manage inventory levels, storage systems, and material handling workflows
  • Support packaging, labeling, and preparation of finished products for delivery
  • Assist with coordinating outbound logistics with carriers and freight partners
  • Monitor and report on KPIs such as uptime, downtime, yield, and waste reduction
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing support roles
  • Familiarity with MES, ERP, or job tracking and scheduling software
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and 5S principles
  • Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, startup manufacturing environment
  • A proactive mindset with interest in growing into manufacturing or operations leadership
