Job Summary:


The Technical Designer supports project success through strong design, communication, coordination, and organizational skills. This position requires proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, with a focus on producing accurate and complete designs. The Technical Designer works closely with senior team members, project managers, and other team members to ensure design quality and project efficiency. This role offers opportunities to learn, grow, and contribute to team and departmental success.


Responsibilities:

Job responsibilities include:

  • Produce accurate and complete designs under the guidance of senior designers or team leaders.
  • Maintain working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit to support project design needs.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, owners, and architects regarding design questions or issues.
  • Assist in tracking job schedules, deadlines, RFIs, ASIs, and project communications.
  • Support coordination with peers, team members, and external stakeholders.
  • Assist in updating and maintaining specifications and design standards.
  • Learn and apply department procedures, tools, and best practices.
  • Conduct field work as needed, including site visits and inspections (may involve walking, climb ladders, or access crawl spaces or rooftops).
  • Contribute to team knowledge by learning from senior staff and participating in training opportunities.

Experience:

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent educational experience in design or engineering.

Education/Requirements:

  • Associate degree or certificate in Engineering Design Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting, or related field. A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline preferred but not required.
  • AutoCAD & Revit experience preferred.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) test preferred but not required.
