Standard Work Schedule: Shift: Other Shift

If Not a Standard Work Schedule: weekdays, weekends, evenings, online, hybrid and off campus

Job Duties and Responsibilities: *Deliver a full instructional load each semester in English Composition, including Professional and Technical Writing, and other approved areas.
*Facilitate learning in multiple teaching environments-traditional classroom, online, hybrid, evening, weekend, and outreach locations.
*Guide and mentor students by offering clear instruction, regular communication, academic advising, and prompt evaluation of their work.
*Contribute to course and program development by refining curricula, updating materials, and integrating effective instructional technologies.
*Participate in service activities that support both the campus and the broader community.
*Stay current in the field through continued professional growth and engagement with scholarly or pedagogical advancements.
*Attend and contribute to institutional functions such as student recruitment events, orientation sessions, departmental planning meetings, and commencement ceremonies.
*Maintain a consistent on-campus presence as required by the college.
*Carry out additional assignments that support departmental and institutional needs.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: 
Master of Arts Degree in Rhetoric and Composition or closely related field.
Record of excellence in teaching at the college level.
Familiarity with latest technologies that impact the writing classroom
Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and with other faculty and administration.
Demonstrated interest in working with the community.

Equivalent Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications: 
*Community college teaching experience.
*Experience teaching professional and technical writing.
*Experience in online course design and delivery.
*Experience in professional capacity writing professional and / or technical texts.
*Experience and / or training in use of AI in the writing classroom.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required.

Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
