Job description

This is a night shift position.
The Production Supervisor leads all activities of assigned team, including safety, quality, service, value, and teamwork. This position is responsible for ensuring all critical business aspects related to the assigned team while clearly communicating information to plant leadership. This role ensures production of a quality product, processing in accordance with mandated regulations, current Good Manufacturing Procedures (cGMP) and established company procedures.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED required. College degree in industrial technology, business, management, or related field preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum three years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Experience in a food processing environment strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Production Process
  • Manage all aspects of assigned work area including but not limited to projects, coordinating production workflow, troubleshooting production processes, costs, scheduling, shipping, receiving, and quality. Ensure on-time delivery of product, within budget, and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Document and understand required data to control production processes.
  • Assist in the development and updating of standard operating procedures.
  • Comply with and follow company food safety and quality policies, ensuring fundamental food safety and quality practices are maintained to achieve food safety and quality objectives and to support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvements of food safety programs.
  • Perform and oversee audits and inspections of the workplace.
  • Monitor production processes, anticipate production concerns, and make effective decisions while striving for continuity of the production process.
  • Investigate incidents, including safety, quality, or food safety.
  • Manage required documentation to meet Essentia internal and external regulations.
  • Drive root cause problem solving to address vendor, supplier, and customer issues concerning quality and delivery.
  • Operate company vehicle, forklifts, and pallet jacks as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Training and Development
  • Conduct and provide quality, safety, and production training for production personnel.
  • Coach and develop team members through the performance review process.
  • Conduct and document training of employees, including safety and food safety standards.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement to improve cost, quality and safety standards for assigned area.
  • Encourages team member development and engagement. Create an environment for team members to grow.

Management
  • Lead through the Essentia Values of Teamwork, Respect, Agility, Creativity, and Knowledge, and model the associated behaviors. Manage assigned team members in performance of their duties.   • Provide Production Manager with input for hiring production personnel.
  • Manage team member performance, including annual performance evaluations and ongoing conversations.

Safety
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, identifying and addressing potential hazards to minimize workplace risks.
  • Lead safety training programs and initiatives to promote employee awareness and adherence to safety standards and practices.
