Assistant Operations Manager

Someone who has had to supervise others in the past and is looking to take the next step in their career. Fleet maintenance experience is a major plus. A positive attitude is a requirement.

Job Responsibilities
The assistant operations manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a local/interstate moving company with 20+ fleet vehicles and 40+ employees. This is accomplished primarily through: hiring, training, and motivating employees; controlling costs; managing daily logistics; and consistently exceeding customer expectations.
  • Determine staffing requirements and facilitate the hiring process; coordinate employee scheduling, truck assignments, and dispatch of move crew
  • Coordinate and direct fleet maintenance and equipment inventory
  • Lead mover/driver training; responsible for team development and motivation
  • Promote safety and uphold safety procedures and policies; ensure compliance with all Department Of Transportation regulations and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration guidelines
  • Serve as the “on-call” contact outside of normal business hours
  • Complete performance audits during moves to ensure safety and customer satisfaction; oversee damage resolution process
  • Experience in the fields of general labor, non-CDL transportation, landscaping, construction, production, manufacturing, assembly, factory or warehouse helpful
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required, some college preferred
  • Driver’s license with good driving record
  • Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to multi-task
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Commitment to customer service and the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK core values
  • Experience in the fields of general labor, non-CDL transportation, landscaping, construction, production, manufacturing, assembly, factory or warehouse helpful
  • Physical stamina to assist with lifting/carrying 100 lbs. or more
  • Proficient with the following Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and random drug screens
Work is generally performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards, however, occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds may be necessary. Local travel in a company vehicle may be required.
