We are seeking an experienced and qualified Assistant Millwork Shop Manager that work in a growing company with expanding business needs.Â

An Assistant Millwork Manager assists the primary manager in managing daily operations at a woodshop or construction site. Responsibilities include overseeing custom woodworking and cabinetry, interpreting blueprints, maintaining quality control, enforcing safety protocols, and supervising installation teams to ensure timely project completion

Core Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise, train, and schedule custom woodworkers, carpenters, and installation crews.
- Step in to lead the team and manage day-to-day operations in the absence of the primary Shop manager.
- Assign specific fabrication or installation tasks based on skill level and project demands.
Production & Technical Oversight
- Interpret complex architectural blueprints, millwork shop drawings, and field dimensions.
- Oversee the fabrication, assembly, and installation of custom cabinetry, molding, and architectural woodwork.
- Conduct regular quality checks to ensure all products meet design specifications and architectural standards.
Project Coordination & Administration
- Coordinate with Project Managers, architects, and designers to resolve structural or design issues.
- Manage inventory, track hardware, and request material or field deliveries according to the construction schedule.
- Assist in administrative duties such as completing Daily Field Reports, tracking timekeeping, and documenting change orders.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all company and site-specific safety regulations, including proper use of safety gear and power equipment.
- Conduct regular safety briefings (toolbox talks) and inspect equipment for safe operation.
Role Requirements
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in finish carpentry, custom cabinetry, or architectural millwork. Previous supervisory or lead experience is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with woodworking machinery, advanced blueprint reading, CNC and proficiency in taking precise field measurements.
- Certifications: Requires or prefers OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certifications
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectively coordinate with trades and clients.
