The Human Resources Coordinator provides essential support across department functions, with a strong emphasis on onboarding and new hire experience for our markets and corporate employee groups. This role supports the employee lifecycle by assisting with coordination of recruitment processes, facilitating onboarding, assisting with benefits administration, and ensuring the HR operations listed are executed efficiently and consistently.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinate and manage onboarding for new hires across various markets and corporate teams.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for new hires throughout the onboarding process.
  • Ensure timely completion of new hire documentation, system entry, and pre-employment requirements.
  • Assist in facilitating and supporting monthly new hire orientation sessions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to ensure a smooth and positive onboarding experience.
  • Assist with creating and posting job requisitions, particularly for corporate groups.
  • Support applicant tracking system processes, including candidate movement and documentation.
  • Coordinate interview scheduling and communication with candidates and hiring teams.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate and requisition records.
  • Assist employees with general benefits inquiries and benefit claims support.
  • Partner with the Benefits team to ensure timely resolution of employee issues.
  • Support benefits administration processes, including eligibility tracking and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HR systems.
  • Ensure compliance with onboarding requirements, including encouraging managers to complete I-9 verifications and obtaining required documentation.
  • Support HR audits, reporting, and data tracking as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the HR team, including SVP when called upon.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, including ADP Workforce Now or similar platforms such as Paycor and Paylocity.
  • Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel) with the ability to track, organize, and analyze HR data.
  • High level of attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service oriented mindset.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience using design and communication tools such as Canva to support presentations, training materials, or internal communications.
  • Ability to follow established processes while identifying opportunities for efficiency and improvement.
  • The employee must occasionally lift, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Complies with Network and Urban One's mandatory on-time and adheres to related course deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Submit to a criminal background check.
  • Legal right to work in the United States.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred with at least 2-4 years of experience in an HR support role or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience with applicant tracking software listed above is preferred.
