Dietary Aide

Parkway Pavilion Health & Rehabilitation Center is a respected Short-Term Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility located in Enfield, CT. We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our dedicated team. At Parkway Pavilion, we believe our employees are our greatest asset. Here, teamwork is paramount, and the health and happiness of our residents are always our top priority.

We are currently looking to fill our dietary aide position with an individual who works to ensure residents maintain a healthy diet. The primary responsibilities include assisting in all aspects of food service assembly, ensuring all dishes adhere to a particular menu, and maintaining health and sanitization standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
  • Complete set up of resident meals trays according to specified diets (napkins, place mats, silverware, glassware, and appropriate condiment for breakfast, lunch or dinner).
  • Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
  • Arrive to work in uniform. Neat and clean appearance.
  • Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
  • Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Set up meal trays, food carts, dining room, etc., as instructed.
  • Assist cook in preparing meals.
  • Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
  • Assist in checking diet trays before distribution.
  • Deliver food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas.
  • Assure that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
  • Prepare and deliver snacks, etc., as instructed.

Safety and Sanitation:

  • Follow safety regulations and precautions at all times.
  • Follow established Infection Control and Universal Precautions policies and procedures when performing daily tasks.
  • Prepare food, etc., in accordance with sanitary regulations as well as with our established policies and procedures. (ex. Gloves and hairnets).
  • Must take out all trash cans after each meal, sweep, mop, and sanitize work areas according to checklists or as deemed appropriate by the supervisor or cook.
  • Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Resident Rights:

  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information.
  • Knock before entering a resident's room.
  • Report complaints to the Director of Food Services.
