Assistant Pep Band - Color Guard Advisor
Shelley High School
The Color Guard Advisor is responsible for leading and supporting the color guard program as part of the school's band program. This position works closely with the band director to develop students' performance skills, teamwork, and overall growth.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Instruct and supervise color guard students in flag, rifle, dance, and performance techniques
  • Plan and attend band camps, after-school rehearsals, and all scheduled performances (including games, competitions, and events)
  • Assist with choreography, routine development, and show design in collaboration with the band director
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team environment
  • Ensure student safety and proper use of equipment
  • Support student growth, leadership, and accountability within the group

Qualifications:
  • Experience in color guard, marching band, or related performance arts preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents
  • Availability for extended hours during marching season (including evenings and some weekends)
