Job description

Muscatine High School's Fine Arts Department is hiring for a HS Color Guard position.
The candidate chosen for hire must successfully complete a background check, have completed Mandatory Reporter training, and possess a Coaching Authorization issued by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners.
This position pays $2,072.
Bilingual preferred or highly desirable. All positions are open until filled.

  • Develop and teach color guard choreography including flag, rifle, and dance movement.
  • Instruct students in proper technique and performance skills.
  • Prepare the color guard for marching band performances and competitions.
  • Work collaboratively with the band director and staff to support the visual design of the marching band program.
  • Supervise students during rehearsals, performances, and travel as required.
  • Assist with recruiting and developing new members for the color guard program.
  • Maintain and organize color guard equipment and uniforms.
Qualifications
  • Experience in color guard performance or instruction preferred.
  • Ability to teach equipment technique and choreography effectively.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
