Assistant Building Secretary - Part Time

Evergreen School District seeks an Assistant Building Secretary to join one of the leading K-8 school districts in the state of Montana. Evergreen's mission is to enable students to become responsible citizens and lifelong learners by ensuring quality instruction in a nurturing environment. The Assistant Building Secretary assists and supports the school office with a variety of duties. This position reports directly to the Building Principal.

Preferred Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma minimum
  • Current knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
  • Working knowledge of all office equipment and basic technology skills
  • Word processing 40-50 words per minute
  • First Aid/CPR

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties of attendance clerk, clerical, typing, computer work, enroll/withdraw students
  • Displays outstanding public relations promoting a kind, welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors
  • Answer telephones, take messages and relay information, assist with mail
  • Schedules school busses, coordinates substitutes as needed
  • Assist in the administration of first aid and/or medication under appropriate circumstances
  • Assist staff members in preparation of instructional materials
  • Assist with disaster drills
  • Maintain building inventories
  • Assists in graduation preparation, monthly newsletter, and daily announcements as needed
