Valley View Manor is actively looking for an activities aide to join our activities team. As an activities aide, you will be responsible to help engage and support our activities department by carrying out daily activities and documenting on resident engagement and participation. The activities aide plays a key role in creating a positive patient experience. In this role, you will assume assist the activities director with the overall assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident activities on the units to help facilitate and deliver comprehensive quality care and to manage the environment in which care is given.

The activities aide will also assist the team in maintaining high standards of patient safety, privacy, care and cleanliness. Previous experience in a medical setting and as a activities aide is required for this position.

DUTIES:

  • Implement and complete activities programs for Residents; focus on individual preferences

  • Work directly with Residents on units; without direct supervision

  • Organize and obtain supplies and equipment as requested

  • Assist activities director & set up program areas as needed

  • Keep daily attendance and document residents’ participation in activities

  • Assist residents to program location and return residents to appropriate units

  • Be familiar with established emergency procedures

  • Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Activities

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A positive attitude and energy are a must!

  • CNA license is encouraged but not required

  • Experience with activities in a healthcare setting a plus

  • Previous experience with Geriatric population preferred

  • Strong computer skills necessary

  • Ability to work effectively as a team member

  • Must have current/valid NYS Driver's License

  • Evening, Weekend and Holiday availability a must
