Job description

We are seeking an Activities Director to join our team! The Activity Director will be responsible for the coordination of the entire activity program within the facility; to include and consider all resident’s needs, interests, and abilities. Strive to enrich the resident’s lifestyle by promoting an optimum level of constructive and quality leisure time activities. Work closely with the facility operators and staff to create a home-like atmosphere.

Coordinate activities of paid and volunteer recreation service personnel in public departments, voluntary agencies, or similar type facilities by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and promote recreation programs including music, dance, arts and crafts, cultural arts, nature study, social recreation and physically and mentally stimulation exercises.

  • Keep abreast of current events within the community and utilize available resources.

  • Organize and maintain both daily and monthly schedule of activities. Inform and assist residents regarding activities.

  • Develop resident’s council/grievance committee to encourage the residents’ involvement and provides means for ensuring the rights of residents.

  • Supervise volunteer support.

Qualifications:

  • Activity Director Certification preferred

  • Previous nursing home experience preferred

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
