Caring Hands Consulting is seeking an Activities Director to lead engaging, resident-centered programming in an onsite setting in New Orleans, LA.

Position Summary

The Activities Director plans, coordinates, and supervises meaningful activities that support the social, emotional, and physical well-being of residents. This role creates a positive and inclusive environment, ensuring programs are tailored to participant needs and implemented consistently.

You will partner with internal teams to assess interests and preferences, develop activity schedules, and maintain a high standard of program quality while complying with applicable policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a full schedule of activities that is engaging, age-appropriate, and responsive to resident needs

  • Assess interests and preferences, monitor participation, and adjust programming to improve engagement and satisfaction

  • Coordinate day-to-day activity logistics, including space planning, materials, and staffing support as needed

  • Ensure accurate documentation of activity plans, attendance, and required program records

  • Collaborate with caregivers and leadership to align activities with broader care goals and service plans

Required Qualifications
  • Activity Director Certification (ADC)

  • Experience working with adults and/or individuals needing structured, supportive engagement

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple activities and timelines

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and build rapport with residents, families, and team members

  • Ability to work onsite in New Orleans, LA and maintain consistent, reliable attendance
