As an Accounting Manager at INFRA, you'll be a cornerstone of our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance while fostering collaboration across departments. You'll work closely with an Accounting Assistant, guiding and mentoring them, and you'll have a direct impact on improving processes that support our mission. This role offers a blend of technical accounting work, strategic problem-solving, and meaningful team leadership in a supportive, mission-driven organization.
What you will own and improve
Financial Close Process
  • Oversee the monthly and annual financial close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and prepare financial statements that meet internal and external requirements.
  • Manage inventory accounting, costing, reconciliations, and other accounting functions for The Good Collective exclusive brand.
  • Develop and implement improvements to the financial close process to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage the AR & AP process including collections.

Member Accounting
  • Manage billing, invoicing, and financial reporting for INFRA member accounts.
  • Maintain accurate records of member transactions and equity, ensuring adherence to policies and agreements.
  • Act as a point of contact for member financial inquiries, providing clarity and excellent customer service.

Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Manage audits, preparing necessary documentation and facilitating communication with auditors.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and implement necessary updates to processes and policies.
  • Manage other compliance activities including Sales & Use Tax filings, 401(k) compliance, unclaimed property and 1099s, among others.

Accounting Systems Management
  • Research, implement, update or change systems as needed. Manage vendor relationships and contracts.
  • Manage system configuration and compliance by aligning software with organizational and regulatory needs, implementing security measures, and conducting periodic audits to ensure data integrity and system functionality/performance alignment.
  • Maintain data integrity and reporting through accurate entry, reconciliation, and recordkeeping, leveraging system tools to generate insights, identify trends, and recommend process improvements.
  • Provide user training & support by troubleshooting issues, creating best practices, and fostering efficient system usage across the organization.

Connection across INFRA
  • Collaborate with People & Culture on payroll, benefits reconciliation, taxes, and other overlapping processes.
  • Partner with administrative staff to ensure seamless handoff and alignment on expense tracking, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Provide financial insights and support to cross-functional initiatives involving accounting, People & Culture, operations, and administration.

Team Management
  • Supervise, mentor, and support direct report (Accounting Assistant), ensuring their growth and success.
  • Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining accountability for team deliverables.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative team culture aligned with INFRA's values and mission.
What you already know
  • At least 5 years of progressive accounting leadership experience, preferably in a professional services organization, association, or similar organization.
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior accounting or finance team management experience required
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and member or client accounting. Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead through influence, as well as manage and mentor team members while collaborating effectively with cross-functional departments.
  • People- and relationship-first value alignment.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Education/Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred but not required.

Location: INFRA HQ at least 3 days/week (Currently Tue, Wed, Thur), frequently up to 5 days/week
