Position summary:  

The Applications Engineer will be responsible for assisting field sales personnel with the technical selling and support of company services to existing and prospective customers with a focus on Plastic Injection molding, Insert Molding, General and Medical Device assembly. This position will also work closely with internal resources to help drive revenue, new business opportunities and resolve customer issues.

Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Work directly with customers to understand their technical requirements for their product/project in order to drive action to address them
  • Assist Sales with developing feasibilities, proposals, quotes and customer follow up
  • Work with both customers and internal resources to resolve customer issues in a timely manner
  • Travel to customer sites to support sales efforts
  • Be the initial technical contact for customers and field salespeople
  • Provide training on technical capabilities, processes and services to customers and internal staff as requested
  • Make presentations to customers; general overviews, webinars, lunch & learns
  • Assist Marketing with technical articles for social media, sales collateral, and presentations
  • Assist with other corporate and company initiatives and projects as requested
  • Attend trade shows and customer events as requested
  • Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve and manufacturing capability and processes of the organization
  • Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
  • Read, understand, and follow work instructions and standard work
  • Partner with other business segments:  sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
  • Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
  • Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly
  • Participate in required company meetings
  • Maintain an organized work area (5S)
  • Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
  • Complete all other work duties as assigned
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
Qualifications

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or technical field such as engineering
  • 3 years of customer-interfacing or technical sales experience in manufacturing or technical industry
  • Aptitue and willingness to develop extensive knowledge of company capabilities, services and processes
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, sales, customers, and peers
  • Technical ability to identify problems and develop and implement actions plans to resolve issues
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, customer requirements and blueprints
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of QSM, ISO 9001/13485, GMP, FDA regulation
  • Ability to train others on technical topics
  • Experience or knowledgeable in project management
  • Solid interpersonal skills and teamwork ability
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills

Pay RangeUSD $82,600.00 - USD $123,800.00 /Yr.Pay Range Details

This pay range reflects the base hourly rate or annual salary for positions within this job grade, based on our market-based pay structures. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as skills, relevant experience, education, internal equity, business needs, and local market conditions. While the full hiring range is shared for transparency, offers are rarely made at the minimum or maximum of the range.
