Are you passionate about improving patient care in fast-paced clinical environments? Merrimack Health is seeking an Applications Analyst to support Surgical Services and the Emergency Department, partnering directly with frontline teams to optimize workflows and enhance critical systems.
This role supports clinical applications essential to perioperative and emergency care, including surgical workflows, ED tracking, and clinical documentation. You’ll work closely with surgeons, ED nurses, and operational leaders to drive system improvements, ensure reliability, and support high-quality patient care.
Experience with Surgical Services, Emergency Department workflows, or acute care applications is preferred. Familiarity with Meditech PCS, EDM, SUR is a plus.
JOB PURPOSE:
As the IS Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for the support, implementation, and ongoing administration of Information Systems applications across the organization. This role includes project leadership duties, coordinating application changes in alignment with hospital standards and changing control protocols. The analyst serves as a technical liaison between end users, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless application functionality and performance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical assistance for application design, testing, and development through timely resolution, clear communication, and user support.
  • Evaluate software solutions based on user needs by maintaining application knowledge and making informed recommendations.
  • Implementation with adherence to timelines and accuracy in documentation.
  • Recommend hardware/software solutions through informed purchasing advice and applying current technology knowledge.
  • Lead projects and upgrades with effective planning, escalation management, and team collaboration.
  • Communicate project status and recommend improvements by providing proactive updates and actionable suggestions.
  • Develop and manage project timelines which are aligned with hospital standards and methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital and Information Systems policies and procedures through documentation, on-call participation, and mobile responsiveness.
  • Lead and participate in project meetings through task delegation, effective communication, and presentations.
  • Stay current with industry and regulatory changes through continuous learning and making relevant contributions.
  • Design and test solutions to meet user requirements by focusing on customer satisfaction and pre-deployment testing.
  • Create user documentation and training materials through clarity in training and documentation usability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally for application success via stakeholder engagement and communication.
  • Troubleshoot HL7 interface issues through interface reliability and issue resolution.
  • Perform additional assigned duties with flexibility and initiative.

Required:

  • Associate degree in Information Systems with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Two to three years as a systems analyst or project lead in software applications.
  • Must demonstrate strong communication, documentation, and technical translation skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and effective both independently and in team settings.
  • Capable of translating technical content for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Conduct systems analysis and workflow documentation for application

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems-related field or equivalent.
  • Healthcare Information Systems experience is preferred.
  • Meditech Expanse NPR and MAT application experience is preferred.
