Senior Mainframe Applications Developer

Labcorp is seeking a Senior Mainframe Applications Developer in either Burlington or Durham, NC.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Attend project related meetings which may include daily stand-ups depending on the project. (A mix of waterfall and agile projects may be assigned)
  • Analysis and documentation of project requirements/technical specs using standard document templates
  • Coding per company standards
  • Unit testing and documentation of unit test plans and test summaries per standard docs.
  • QA/UA support as needed
  • Possible production support ticket research
  • Support as needed for projects after production deployment.
  • Provide weekly status report of current assignments at end of each week.
Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, exempt (salaried) position assigned to a First Shift schedule, with standard business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time zone. Business needs may occasionally require flexibility in work hours, including earlier, later, or additional hours, with reasonable notice provided when possible.

Applicants who live within 35 miles of either the Burlington, NC or Durham, NC location will follow a hybrid schedule. This schedule includes a minimum of three in-office days per week at an assigned location, either Burlington or Durham, supporting both collaboration and flexibility.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 12 or more years' of COBOL (IBM Enterprise COBOL for z/OS) experience
  • 12 or more years' of JCL experience
  • 12 or more years' of DB2/SQL experience
  • 12 or more years' of VSAM File Processing experience
  • 12 or more years' of TSO/ISPF experience
  • 12 or more years' experience with Research, Analysis & Debugging skills
  • 12 or more years' experience in documentation of technical specs, unit test plan and test summary
  • 12 or more years' experience in MS Windows/MS Office 365/MS Teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 or more year's experience with CICS
  • 2 or more years' experience with Quikjob/Vision:Report
  • 2 or more years' experience with Easytrieve
  • 2 or more years' experience with Java
  • 2 or more years' experience with File-Aid/File Manager
  • 2 or more years' experience with DB2 utilities: ADB, QMF, SPUFI, FM/DB2
  • 2 or more years' experience with SCLM (change management tool)
  • 2 or more years' experience with ChangeMan/ZMF (change management tool)
  • 2 or more years' experience with IBM RDz/IDz (Windows Client-based Development tool)
  • 2 or more years' experience with CICS Web Services
  • 2 or more years' experience with Gen/COOL:Gen
  • 2 or more years' experience with GuardIEn (used with Gen)
  • 2 or more years' experience with SBM (Solutions Business Manager by OpenText -acquired by Serena) for ticket management
  • 2 or more years' experience with Confluence/Jira
