Job Description

The primary purpose of this role is the implementation, support, administration, and maintenance of enterprise software applications. This role ensures system stability, availability, and performance while supporting critical business operations. The Application Support Engineer provides technical support, develops proactive solutions, and collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues efficiently.

This position also contributes to documentation, training, and continuous improvement initiatives, including participation in disaster recovery exercises and root cause resolution activities.


Responsibilities

  • Resolve production support issues within defined SLAs, including participation in on-call support rotations and maintenance windows
  • Analyze and troubleshoot moderate to complex application issues, performing debugging, testing, and root cause analysis
  • Configure, install, patch, and upgrade software in accordance with change management policies
  • Collaborate with software vendors, developers, and internal teams to resolve complex technical issues
  • Implement proactive monitoring and solutions to prevent recurring incidents and improve system reliability
  • Maintain business continuity by ensuring high availability and performance of supported applications
  • Communicate effectively with users, stakeholders, and leadership regarding incident status and resolution progress
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, release notes, and user guides
  • Support application development tasks for issue resolution following established standards
  • Mentor junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Support enterprise systems including Blue Yonder WMS, TeamViewer Vision, Steplogic, and Ortec


Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 3+ years of progressive IT experience, required
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment, required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, preferred
  • Experience with Oracle and SQL Server databases, required
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, preferred
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) preferably Blue Yonder, required
  • Experience with incident management and change control processes, preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, preferred
  • Relevant certifications (ITIL, Oracle, Microsoft) preferred
